Refunds, Changes & Cancellations
How do refunds work and how long do they take?
Refund timelines depend on why the refund is being issued. Refunds generally fall into one of three scenarios. 1. Payment completed but booking failed Can happen if seats become unavailable, the airline does not confirm, or a technical issue occurs after payment. FlightsMojo initiates the refund immediately — usually within a few hours — and sends a refund receipt with the RRN / reference number. Timelines by payment method: UPI usually within a few hours to 24 hours; credit/debit cards typically 3–5 working days; net banking 3–5 working days; wallets depend on the provider. In this case the refund is already processed by FlightsMojo — remaining time depends only on your bank. 2. Customer-initiated cancellation FlightsMojo submits the cancellation request to the airline or supplier; the airline reviews and confirms the refundable amount; once FlightsMojo receives the refund from the airline, we process it back to you. Why can't FlightsMojo refund before receiving the airline amount? Until the airline confirms the cancellation and closes the ticket, the booking remains open in the airline system and may still be eligible for rescheduling or other actions. Refunding early can lead to conflicting outcomes, so refunds are processed only after the amount is received from the airline. Timeline: airline processing varies by airline and fare type; after FlightsMojo receives the refund it is processed within 72 hours; bank timelines then apply. Refund amount depends on airline fare rules, and FlightsMojo service fees are non-refundable. 3. Airline-initiated cancellation or schedule change The airline first processes the refund to the supplier or FlightsMojo — usually 4–5 days, sometimes 20–25 days depending on the airline. Once received, FlightsMojo processes it to you immediately; bank timelines apply after that. Delays in this case are caused by airline processing timelines. During peak travel or disruption periods During winter peak travel, bad weather, airline disruptions, or unforeseen operational issues, airlines may take longer than usual, and higher volumes can create processing backlogs. Refunds are not lost — they are processed as soon as funds are received from airlines. How will I know my refund is processed? Refunds are sent to the original payment method, and a refund confirmation or receipt (with RRN/reference number) is shared once processed. Banks may take additional time to reflect the amount. If your refund timeline has passed or you need an update for a specific booking, raise a support request with your Booking ID.
Can I change or cancel my flight?
Whether you can change or cancel your flight depends on the airline's fare rules and the type of ticket you booked. Not all tickets allow changes or cancellations. Can I change my flight? Flight changes are allowed only if permitted by the airline. If your ticket allows changes: airline change charges may apply, fare difference (if any) must be paid, and changes are subject to seat availability. Some discounted or promotional fares do not allow changes, and changes may not be allowed after departure. Can I cancel my flight? If your ticket is cancellable: airline cancellation charges apply, and the refund amount depends on fare rules and time of cancellation. No-show tickets may have low or zero refunds, convenience or service fees may be non-refundable, and some fares are completely non-refundable. What if the airline changes or cancels my flight? You may be eligible (as per airline policy) to accept the new schedule, change to an alternate flight, or request a refund. Available options depend entirely on the airline. See also: Airline changed or cancelled my flight. Special note for Group Fare bookings Group Fare tickets are generally non-refundable, non-changeable, and non-cancellable. In rare cases FlightsMojo may check with the airline/supplier whether a cancellation is possible — not guaranteed. What if I purchased TripShield? You may be eligible to raise a TripShield claim, subject to its terms — separate from airline cancellation rules. Visit https://tripshield.flightsmojo.in/ How do I request a change or cancellation? Raise a support request through the Help Centre with: your Booking ID, passenger name, travel date, and the requested change or cancellation. Our team will check airline eligibility and confirm applicable charges before proceeding. If your travel is within 24–48 hours, mention that so your request is prioritised.
Airline changed or cancelled my flight — what are my options?
Sometimes airlines change, reschedule, or cancel a flight due to operational reasons. Your available options depend entirely on the airline's policy — FlightsMojo assists you based on what the airline allows. Why do airlines change or cancel flights? Operational or aircraft changes, weather conditions, airport or air traffic restrictions, schedule realignments, technical or crew-related issues. These decisions are controlled by the airline, not FlightsMojo. What options are usually available? Depending on the airline and fare type: accept the revised schedule, change to an alternate flight (same airline, subject to availability), or request a refund (as per airline policy). What counts as a major schedule change? A significant change in departure or arrival time, a change of travel date, or flight cancellation by the airline. What qualifies as a major change is defined by the airline. Can I get a refund for a major change or cancellation? You may be eligible for a full refund of the ticket amount, subject to airline approval. Note: refund eligibility depends on airline policy, FlightsMojo service fees still apply for handling and processing, and refunds are processed only after FlightsMojo receives the amount from the airline. Do I have to pay extra if the airline changes my flight? In many cases airlines allow a free change or refund for major changes. However, minor timing changes may not qualify, and policies vary by airline and route. What should I do if my flight is changed or cancelled? 1. Review the updated information shared via email or WhatsApp 2. Decide whether you want to accept the change, request an alternate flight, or request a refund 3. Raise a support request through the Help Centre with your Booking ID and preferred option If your travel is within 24–48 hours, raise the request immediately and mention your travel date so it can be prioritised.
No-show policy — what happens if I miss my flight?
A no-show happens when a passenger does not check in or board the flight and does not cancel the booking before departure. In no-show cases, airlines apply strict rules, and refund eligibility depends entirely on the airline's policy. What happens if I miss my flight? - The airline may mark the booking as a no-show - The ticket may become partially refundable or completely non-refundable - The return/onward sector will be cancelled automatically if it is booked with the same airline Airline rules vary by fare type and airline. Can I get a refund in a no-show case? In most cases, no refunds are allowed after a no-show. In some limited cases airlines may allow a partial refund of certain components — this depends entirely on airline approval. FlightsMojo can process a refund only if the airline approves it. Do FlightsMojo service fees apply? Yes. If a refund is approved by the airline, FlightsMojo will process the refund received, with applicable service fees deducted. FlightsMojo cannot refund any amount not received from the airline. What if I know I will miss my flight? Raise a support request before departure if possible — early cancellation may improve refund eligibility (as per airline rules). Once the flight departs, options are very limited. Important things to remember - Airlines enforce no-show rules strictly - Missing the first segment may cancel onward or return flights - Refunds, if any, take time and depend on airline processing If you still need assistance, raise a support request with your Booking ID, flight date, and route.
